Jim Gauthier Kia is seeking an experienced Controller to join our team at the newest addition to the Gauthier Auto Group. As we approach our fifth anniversary, we continue to grow rapidly as a modern and dynamic dealership with exciting opportunities. Compensation will be discussed during the interview process and will be based on experience.

Your Area of Focus

Join the team at Jim Gauthier Kia, where you will play a key role in managing financial planning, budgeting, and expense control within our dealership. This position ensures that all financial reconciliations and reporting deadlines are met accurately and on time. Responsibilities include overseeing essential financial functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll administration, and intercompany accounts. Additionally, you will coach and mentor accounting staff, collaborate with senior management, and provide detailed financial analysis and reports. The ideal candidate has a solid background in accounting, preferably in the automotive industry, and is proficient in financial software tools.

What Drives Your Day-to-Day?

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, and expense management efforts.
• Assist with annual forecasting and budgeting.
• Oversee or perform reconciliations for financial functions.
• Accounts receivable and payable
• Payroll administration and vehicle deal commissioning.
• Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines are met.
• Act as a liaison between the dealership, head office, and senior management.

What You Bring to the Team

• Experience in an accounting role.
• Automotive dealership experiences an asset.
• Familiarity with Reynolds + Reynolds is a plus.
• Completion of post-secondary education in accounting or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of full-cycle accounting and general ledger reconciliations is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
